TL;DR

The collection of the folklore museum in Panagia encompasses tools, weapons, swords used in the Greek Revolution of 1821.

The folklore museum of Panagia, established in 1999, is accommodated in a simple stone building, which once was used as the wash-place of the village. On the right there was a ditch with running water and special rooms for the firedog and the cauldron, where the housewives boiled the water to wash with.

The collection provides a representative image of the life in a mountainous Arcadian village from the 19th century until the middle of the 20th century and encompasses a smith’s furnace, a cauldron to make raki (a Greek alcoholic drink), a barber’s workshop, utensils, tools and objects used in traditional farming, weapons and swords, used during the Greek Revolution of 1821, photographs, etc.
