Built on Mount Parnonas at an altitude of 1,150m among fir trees, Kosmas village is a beautiful village with almost 600 residents. Nearby, you will find the ancient ruins of Selinounta, a city dedicated to Apollo, as well as the monastery of Eloni.

The church of Agioi Anargiroi (St. Anargiroi) stands out in the village’s square, as well as the plane trees planted there since 1883. The village has a library, an art gallery and a folklore collection.

It was in Kosmas village where a great battle against the Italians took place. On January 29, 1944 the village was set completely on fire by the Germans and was rebuilt after the war.

Kosmas village is known for its baklava. The name Kosmas was first mentioned in 1592.

Kosmas village is also called “the balcony of Kynouria” due to the breathtaking view of the surrounding area.
