The villa Tourkovassili is one of the two rare art-nouveau architectural examples in the world. Unfortunately for Tripoli, this gem remains abandoned. The villa belonged to the politician Theodoros Tourkovassilis and for a period of time it was the cosmopolitan hub of the city. Its garden with its alleys and passages full of ivies is considered to be exquisite. Unfortunately, its expensive furniture in the interior was pillaged and destroyed throughout the years. In 2013, the Municipality of Tripoli bought the building together with an acre of the surrounding area. However, the building is yet to be renovated.
