A monastic complex that had a defencive purpose, equipped with a tower. The monastery is Byzantine, built in the 13th century, but abandoned for about a century. It was named Andromonastiro, meaning monastery for men, because it was a monastery that only allowed men.

The complex is quite large, comprised of the temple, a three story tower house, a two story building, another two story wing, an underground water storage and other buildings. The tower has been extensively repaired and altered during its life, taking its final form in the 17th century.

In 2011 begun reconstruction and repair works. Today, it is in good condition, and entrance is free.
