The folklore museum of Vytina, established in 1986, is on the main square of Vytina, accommodated in a traditional stone building. The museum is run under the auspices of the Vytina Cultural Association. The collection of the museum encompasses objects and tools drawn from the rich historical and social heritage of the region. The hundreds of exhibits are mostly items from the private collections of the two owners: a local teacher, author, folklorist and a barber, correspondent of the local newspaper. The inhabitants of the region have also contributed with donations.
You can see farming and woodcutting tools, old machines, utensils, ecclesiastical articles, textiles, embroideries, local garments, furniture, a fully operational loom and photographs. There is, also, the representation of a cobbler’s workshop.
To visit the museum, you must contact the president of the Vytina Cultural Association, Mr. F. Katsoulias.
