TL;DR

A picturesque village perfect for a base of operations for adventures in the surrounding area, with a small population employed in animal husbandry.

A mountainous village built over the city of Filiatra, on an altitude of 956 metres in a blind hollow of the mountain, with just 17 residents. The people of Mali are mainly employed in animal husbandry and they have created the "Breeders Association of Kontovounia", named after the mountain where the village is built on. In recent years, an underwater deposit of water was found near the village, solving the water supply problem the village had.

The village of Mali had important contributions in the Revolution of 1821. Its residents, called the Arcadians, were greatly feared by the Turks, and during that time, the village was bigger, with a much larger number of residents.

The picturesque village is built inside lush countryside, still retaining many of its old stone buildings, though a few are abandoned and others half-ruined. It is a great base of operations for adventures in nature.
