The village is built on an altitude of 378 metres, on the fringes of the small hill called Pyrgaki (meaning, small tower). The view from the village is magical, since the eye can reach even the island Zakynthos from across the sea.
According to a census of 2011, it has 52 residents, mainly occupied in animal husbandry and agriculture, especially olive cultivation. The village used to be called "Poor Woman".
