A sea-side settlement, built on an altitude of 8 metres. It is 500 metres from the sea and 4 kilometres north of Kyparissia, on the national highway that connects Kyparissia with Pylo.
The village is well-known for the "Messinian watermelon" that is harvested earlier than any other place in Europe. Near Terpsithea is the beautiful Vlacho's beach, a difficult to access beach with pebbles.
In the village was born Polyvios Dimitrakopoulos, known by the literary nickname Arkas, who was a great poet, journalist and playwright of the 19th century.
