A lovely town known for its Venetian water bridge and its beautiful beaches.

Assos is a town of 1,900 inhabitants located at an altitude of 30m and is 11km west of the city of Corinth. In this historical town was signed the treaty of Akrocorinth with which the Turks capitulated to the commander-in-chief Theodoros Kolokotronis on November 7, 1823.

The economy of this town is based mostly on the agricultural production. Vegetables, grapes and fruits are some of the many produced and packaged in this town. Recently, many tourist-oriented businesses have grown (rooms to let, small hotels, taverns) so as to provide the best to the visitors that overwhelm the town due to its proximity to Athens and its lovely beaches. Near Assos town an aqueduct or water bridge from the Venetian Rule II (1687-1715) survives till today which is declared as listed.
