It is the last small harbor of east Mani before Mainalo cape. It served as a hideout for many sailors (pirates) and fighters of the Greek Independence War in 1821 because it is well protected from the winds. The beach has sand and pebbles with shallow waters and lovely taverns by the shore provide the bathers with umbrellas and deck-chairs, though the beach is not organized.
