The archeological museum in Megalopolis was founded in 1987 and its small collection includes sculptures, dosserets and shells discovered near the banks of Elissonas river during excavations, as well as objects of Hellenistic and roman period such as, inscriptions, vases and sculptures, like the statue of Aphrodite holding a big shell and a headless torso with robe and garment. The museum, also, houses two tusks of 2.5m approximately, found during the excavations in 2008 at Isioma of Megalopolis.
The museum is to be relocated in a traditional building, which formerly accommodated a retirement home. There, a supralocal archeological museum will be established with findings from every historic era of this Arcadian city and of the wider region.
