The ruins of the Frankish castle of Agios Georgios (Saint Georgios) of the Scorta sits between two villages of Arcadia, Upper Karyes and Kourounia. It was built in the 14th century, to protect the road to Sparta and Kalamata, along with other castles. During the Frankish rule, the name Scorta was used for the western mountainous part of Arcadia, and that's why the castle is mentioned as castle of the Scorta.

Today, only part of the wall near the small chapel of Agios Georgios survive. The castle is almost completely destroyed. Access to the foot of the hill is easy, but to reach the castle a hike of 30 to 40 minutes is required.
