Fanari is a village at an altitude of 600m in the prefecture of Elis only 4km from the town of Andritsaina. It has approximately 260 residents and it is built on the northern slopes of Mount Fanari, 60 km southeast of Pyrgos.
Fanari once stood up against the Despotate of Moria, as well as against the Franks and Venetians. It was also present during the Revolution of 1821 by decisively contributing to the destruction of the turkish forces. Its emblem is the Castle of Orias.
