A semi-mountainous village in Argolida, built on an altitude of 474 metres. The area is full of greenery, fir and arbutus trees. The village is beautiful and picturesque, prefect for a headquarters for the hiker that wants to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. It took its name from its many plane trees, the world "platani" being the tree's name in Greek. It has about 100 residents engaged in animal husbandry and agriculture. It is noteworthy that the village is the finishing line of the "Gymno" route of the famous Acropolis Rally of Greece, an extremely tough competition for car drivers. Every year, in August, the church dedicated to Agia Anna holds a huge festival.
